City Treasurer
The City Treasurer supervises all City accounting, including Light and Power, and purchasing services which are conducted in an open, competitive manner to provide maximum return of the dollar to benefit the City and the community.
The City Treasurer is appointed by City Council and works under their direction. The Treasurer oversees three full-time staff.
Under the City Treasurer, the Finance Department is responsible for maintaining financial records based on standards prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and preparing financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Treasurer’s office is responsible for creating and maintaining the annual budget, accounts payable, payroll, utility billing, grant management, bids and participating in the annual audit.
