Enriching our community with business expansions, new businesses and incoming residents ensures that we are building a better tomorrow for the future. Community Development assists the City, its developers, businesses, and residents with areas of growth and expansion in coordination with Lamar’s Building Department.
The Community Development Office works in tandem with the following departments and organizations to help you navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

Lamar is completing a roadmap, a ten-year Crossroads HORIZON comprehensive plan on how and where we will likely direct our attention and resources. Like most strategic plans, it will focus on key points for improvement and growth will but be flexible enough to embrace new opportunities that appear. We are thankful for community input that is helping to shape our focuses and intended outcomes. Our Pathfinders Steering Committee and Navigators Youth Committee are leaving their footprints on our plan... and our future!
Business Assistance
