Free Dump (Transfer Station & Landfill) Weekends

City of Lamar Landfill: 29141 County Rd. 14 (6 miles east of Lamar on Hwy 50 and 2 miles south on County Rd. 14). Weekend hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.

City of Lamar Transfer Station: 609 Crystal Street in Lamar. Open only for Free Dump Weekends (8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Sundays). Limit of one load per household/day.
Important Reminders:
- For City of Lamar residents and Sanitation customers ONLY. Must provide valid ID with address within City limits or City of Lamar utility bill.
- All loads (to either location) MUST be tarped. All uncovered loads will be charged $10.00.
- Large loads MUST go to the Landfill (any load larger than a standard pickup bed).
- Construction and/or project debris that require a permit are only accepted at the Landfill with a fee.
- Contractors will be charged for all project debris.
- Gate attendee makes all decisions on what is allowed and where
- Appliances, e-waste and tires are not free; they will be accepted with a fee.

LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE - Community Clean-Up Weekends
Community pride starts at home: the City of Lamar landfill and transfer station designates one month each year for Community Clean-up and free dump weekends, usually in the spring. As a community, we are better when we work together! Let's love where we live and make this community look its best.
During Community Clean up Month almost every item that is not free during Free Dump Weekends is accepted free of charge. This event is for city residents and sanitation customers only. Gate attendants will verify residency via driver’s license or utility bills.
- Acceptable Items:
- E-waste, latex/oil base paint, tires, wood, white goods/appliances, used oil/antifreeze, tree limbs & yard waste
- The following items must be separated and labeled:
- Tires, lead acid batteries, all metal objects, refrigerators or freon containing appliances, computers/e-waste.
- Items that must be labeled and separated prior to drop off:
- Paint, pesticides and used motor oil (accept only household hazardous waste, cleaners, solvents, rodent control), all liquids (must be labeled for contents)
- Items that are not accepted:
- Demolition debris/asbestos; burn barrels
- Standard Landfill Requirements Apply. Additional information includes:
- Each item will be screened upon arrival and placed in the appropriate location.
- Loads larger than a standard pick-up will not be accepted at the transfer station and will be advised to go to the landfill.
- Commercial waste is not eligible for Free Dump or Community Clean-up. It must go to the landfill and is billable.
- Customers unable to provide proof of residency will not be able to leave their waste at the transfer station.
