The Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreation programs for all ages. The department's mission is to provide quality services and opportunities for recreation, leisure, sports, education, and cultural activities. 

Overall goals include:
1.    To meet the needs of the people.
2.    To provide quality programs at affordable prices.
3.    To serve all age groups in the community.
4.    To provide a wide range of activities emphasizing arts and crafts, athletics, and fitness programs.
5.    To offer City facilities for meeting rooms, opportunities for conventions, banquets, sports tournaments and special events.

Quality programs will be offered to the public at an affordable cost through effective partnerships with civic organizations and the private sector.  Costs are also contained through the efforts of the community volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to many recreation programs.
